Real Experience Matters Joseph L. Wright is an Assistant Chief in the State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County. He recently prosecuted cases in the Violent Crimes Unit which includes serious multi-defendant felonies, gang cases, murder cases and high profile police prosecution cases. He has prosecuted every type of case in the office. In his twelve years in the office, he has first chaired nearly 100 jury trials. Joseph is a proud graduate of Prince George’s Community College (1989) and Howard University (Class of 1992) where he met his wife, Shawn Wright Esq., After Howard, Joseph attended Tulane Law School. They have two children Jalen and Joie, ages 11 and 8.
Along with his formal duties as an Assistant State’s Attorney, he is involved within the community. He serves on the Prince George’s County School Board Ethics Panel, and teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Prince George’s Community College and Washington Adventist University.
